Centre for Values in Leadership Honours FUTA, UNILAG and LASU Vice Chancellors

The Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Akure FUTA Professor Adenike Oladiji has been honoured for outstanding contributions to tertiary education in Nigeria by the Centre for Values in Leadership, Lagos, a Non-Governmental Organization that tracks performance of key drivers of diverse sectors of Nigeria.

The CVL, under the Leadership of Professor Pat Utomi, honoured Professor Oladiji alongside the Vice Chancellor of the University of Lagos, Professor Folasade Ogunsola, and the Vice Chancellor of Lagos State University, Professor Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello for Breaking Barriers, Building Bridges and leading the way in education, the theme of the Colloquium held at the National Institute of International Affairs, Victoria Island Lagos on Thursday May 2,2024.

The Executive Director of the Centre, Professor Patrick Utomi stated that Professor Adenike Oladiji and her colleagues " are astute Administrators, and special breed who are well known scholars and researchers with rare combination of brilliance and intelligence."

He stated that their leadership skills have been developing brains and nurturing talents.

He said by their current position and style of leadership," they are significantly revolutionizing and reshaping girl child education in Nigeria."

The Executive Director however mentioned that Professor Adenike Oladiji with her honoured peers in ivory tower could bring about leadership change needed in society and also reshape human values for the benefit of mankind.

The Vice Chancellor who was represented by Mr Tokunbo Olakunle, Deputy Director Corporate Communications and Protocol thanked the Executive Director and the organizers for the honour. He stated that the Vice Chancellor with her tenacity of purpose, impactful ideas and administrative competence, has repositioned Federal University of Technology Akure as a premium tertiary institution in Nigeria. He said that under her watch, FUTA has maintained its position as the country's leading university of technology and a key research-intensive citadel of academic excellence.
